Hengxu Lin (Pronunciation)

Hi! I am Hengxu. I am a third year Ph.D. candidate at Columbia Business School.

My goal is to provide actionable insights and efficient solutions for businesses in the areas of personalization, targeting, and recommender systems. By blending statistical modeling, machine learning and economic theory, I aim to (i) develop scalable, practical models to understand data heterogeneity and consumer preferences; (ii) build adaptive and reliable AI system to achieve desirable business outcomes such as consumer responses.

Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked in the Machine Learning Group at Microsoft Research Asia. I obtained my M.S. in Financial Economics at Columbia University and B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. in Accounting at Sun Yat-sen University.
